Thank you for attending my two day workshop, organized by Ms. Rachna Nath.

If you have any questions, please contact me via my contact page.

A FEW TUTORIALS FOR iPHONES

This tutorial is good to better understand the iPhone’s native camera application. One example is AE/AF lock (about 11 min into the video) and exposure adjustment in video mode (about 13:50 into the video). Also note how you can swipe up when in camera mode to uncover options like flash controls, exposure control, color tinting and more (about 17 minutes into the video). FIND IT HERE

This is a very good video that covers some settings, editing and other tips. FIND IT HERE

BACKING UP iCLOUD DOCS TO A MAC

I spoke about being able to download your files to another Mac computer (you can also use an external drive but I don’t recommend it) because if you have your computer and iPhone set to “Optimize storage,” you won’t have any full-resolution backups (they will only be on Apple’s computers in the cloud). This article is helpful for doing that. Just be aware that if you is designated your library that you are backing up as the iCloud Photo Library, and if you delete files from the library, files will also be deleted from iCloud, your phone/other Apple devices and from your backup location.

BACKING UP iCLOUD DOCS TO WINDOWS

I spoke about being able to download your files to another Windows computer or an external drive because if you have your computer and iPhone set to “Optimize storage,” you won’t have any full-resolution backups. Just be aware that if you designated the library that you are backing up as the iCloud Photo Library, and if you delete files from the library, files will also be deleted from iCloud, your phone/other Apple devices and from your backup location.

BULBS and LIGHTING

(Please note: some of the links below may contain affiliate links, which means that we may receive a small portion of any sales, but your pricing will be the same as if you had visited the pages directly.)

The link below will bring up many options. I have not tested any but the Bower Flexible 24″ Ring Light. I have three of them, and they range from $10-20. Some have a microphone holder and a desk stand. If you have a portable USB Power source, that may be used to power some LED lights. PLEASE NOTE: Always use caution with anything related to batteries and electricity.

Visit this page for more info and options.

I also mentioned a 3 head lamp that I own and that is very nice because you can bring it into different rooms and adjust the heads in different ways. You can also adjust the color temperature and intensity of the three lamps.

Visit this page for the 3 head lamp. Current cost is $70 less a $10 coupon.

And here is a link to a page with many bulbs (daylight to warm-white).

Just to review, color temperatures are as follows: Daylight-balanced: about 5000k, Warm-white, about 3500k, and warm, about 2500-3000k.

I particularly like these for daylight-balanced bulbs.

REFLECTORS

During the workshop I showed a number of reflectors as well as a great umbrella holder that you can hold in your hand.

Here is a page with many reflectors.

And another page with the umbrella/light holder that I like so much.

SMARTPHONE STANDS

Here is a page with many smartphone stands.

In general, I like the Lamical metal stands. I own this one that can be used for tablets and phones.

SMARTPHONE CASE I MENTIONED

I really like this Samsung S23 case because the screen protector is built into the front part of the case, and it offers excellent protection. You can FIND IT HERE.

Some have intervalometers. Also known as Time-Lapse

Price: $7.99 one time purchase
